One engagement, four phases
Every GIVE Consultancy engagement runs through the same four phases: Discover, Design, Deliver, Sustain. The shape stays the same; the inputs and outputs change with the service line and the sector. We will tell you what each phase looks like on day one, so there are no surprises.
Phase 1: Discover
Free, no obligation, focused on whether we are the right firm for your engagement.
Discover is a 30-minute conversation. We talk through your context, what you want to be true 90 days from now, and the constraints you are operating inside. We will not run a sales process. If we are not the right firm for your engagement, we will say so on this call and, where we can, point you to someone who is.
If we are the right fit, Discover ends with a one-page scoping note we send you within two working days. It states the outcome we are aiming for, the work we will and will not do, the cost, and the dates. You decide whether to proceed.
Phase 2: Design
The first two to four weeks of the engagement. We earn the right to the recommendation.
Design covers the early structured work: interviews, desk research, scans, modelling where needed, and the framing conversations that turn the brief into a recommendation we can defend.
We hold one weekly working session through this phase, plus an early surprise call if anything we find changes the shape of the engagement. Nothing gets saved up for a big reveal.
Phase 3: Deliver
The bulk of the engagement. Outputs land in the form they need to land in.
Deliver is the production phase. Strategic briefs, board papers, organisation maps, positioning docs, process re-designs: whatever the engagement scoped, this is where it gets produced. Every output is written long-form and tested against the sharpest internal critic before it leaves the room.
Weekly working sessions continue, with a board-facing check-in at the midpoint where appropriate. We do not work in the dark; you see drafts as they form.
Phase 4: Sustain
How the work survives our departure.
Sustain is the deliberate handover. Most engagements end with a written handover note that captures the recommendation, the rationale, the decision points still open, and the person inside your team who now owns each piece. Some engagements graduate to a quarterly retainer if the work warrants ongoing partnership; most do not, and that is by design.
We are happy to be re-engaged. We are also happy not to be, when the work is done.
Confidentiality and IP
Standard NDA available on request, before any sensitive material changes hands. Your data, your plans, and your identity remain your property. All deliverables produced during the engagement are assigned to you on completion. We describe our work, when we describe it at all, by what was solved, not by who we solved it for.
