Cookie Policy

What cookies we use, and how to manage them. Last updated 11 May 2026.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device (computer, tablet, phone) when you visit it. They are used to make the site work, to remember your preferences, and (with your consent) to help website owners understand how visitors use the site.

This Cookie Policy explains which cookies we use on giveconsultancy.co.uk, what each one is for, and how you can manage them. Read this together with our Privacy Policy.

2. Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are required for the website to function. We do not ask for your consent to set them because they are needed to deliver the service you have requested.

NameSet byPurposeLifespan
PHPSESSID giveconsultancy.co.uk Maintains your session across page requests; required for the contact form to remember its CSRF token and your interaction state. Until you close the browser
gc_consent giveconsultancy.co.uk Stores your cookie-banner preference so we do not show the banner on every page load. 365 days

3. Analytics cookies (consent required)

If you click "Accept" on the cookie banner, we load Google Analytics 4 (GA4) which sets the following cookies. If you click "Decline non-essential", GA4 is not loaded and these cookies are not set.

_ga Google Analytics Distinguishes unique users (anonymised). 2 years
_ga_* Google Analytics Stores GA4 session state per property. 2 years

We do not enable Google's advertising features. GA4 data is used only for aggregate audience and behaviour analysis to help us improve the site. See Google's Privacy Policy for more on how Google handles this data.

4. Third-party cookies (functional only)

NameSet byPurposeLifespan
NID, _GRECAPTCHA Google reCAPTCHA Helps Google score whether a contact-form or newsletter signup is automated; used to keep the site free of bot spam. 6 months

reCAPTCHA loads on pages with a form (currently the contact page and the newsletter signup). It does not track you across the rest of the site.

5. Cookies we do not use

We do not use any advertising, retargeting, or cross-site tracking cookies. We do not share visitor data with marketing networks. We do not sell visitor data.

6. How to manage cookies

You can change your cookie preferences at any time by:

  • Clicking "Decline non-essential" on the cookie banner the next time you visit the site (clearing your existing gc_consent cookie or visiting in an incognito window will bring the banner back).
  • Using your browser's privacy settings to clear or block cookies for this site:
    • Chrome: Settings › Privacy and security › Cookies and other site data.
    • Firefox: Settings › Privacy & Security › Cookies and Site Data.
    • Safari: Preferences › Privacy › Manage Website Data.
    • Edge: Settings › Cookies and site permissions › Manage and delete cookies and site data.

Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent the contact form from working correctly.

7. Do Not Track

Browsers send a Do Not Track signal to indicate the user does not wish to be tracked. Because we do not perform any cross-site tracking or behavioural advertising in the first place, this signal has no functional impact on what we do.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when we change the cookies we use. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.

9. Contact
